The topic is close to my heart - and very personally.
Depression is a taboo: sufferers are afraid of stigmatization. Those who do not know the disease have a hard time dealing with those affected. We can all talk about a broken leg. This can be seen from the outside and limping is then widely accepted. If not the bones but the soul breaks, you don't see a cast and the symptoms - the depressive limping - are quickly dismissed: "You again with your fucking mood. Just smile!"
We should talk about it, because I worked in the insurance industry for almost 20 years. That's why I know that depression is now one of the main triggers for occupational disability and an immense problem for our health care, the national and insurance industries.
I also have several years of treatment, 6 weeks of inpatient clinic and medication for severe depression behind me. Even today, they sometimes still make my life difficult. That's just the way it is. I can say firsthand: depression and bad mood are completely different. One goes away when we are hugged. The other makes us feel like we no longer deserve a hug.
Today I am grateful that the healthcare system took me very seriously and that I received help. That's why I want to give something back
I heard about it for the first time from your patron Torsten Sträter, slam poet and comedian. Torsten Sträter speaks openly about it, in his unmistakable humor through which I can laugh tears. I was personally grateful for his appearance with Kurt Krömer (show "Chez Krömer" on Youtube).
The German Depression League e.V. is a non-profit organization for those affected, it stands for help and self-help, both for those affected and for their relatives. She advocates the topic of depression vis-à-vis politics and society.
In the meantime, I am a full member of the German Depression League e.V. out of conviction.
Together we have already donated
to the German Depression League e.V.
Thanks a lot for your support!
1.
Through membership as an affected person or relative. Don't worry, the contribution is not high, but comes to the German Depression League regularly.
I myself am now a full member.
2.
By buying from Mibero, because for each sold product I put aside a small part of the income and donate this amount per PayPal to the German Depression League, if it has grown to at least 20.00 EUR each.
3.
With a "tip for a good cause".
So if you want to give a little more, you can tip in the shop, you determine the amount. You put it in the shopping cart and pay for it when ordering. I do not keep this tip for myself but
put it aside 100% for the donation.
